We Are the Guardians of Our Vineyards: Green, Authentic, and Wild
Monferrato is a mosaic of ancient and complex soils, where every hill tells a different geological story. Our vineyards, our production, and our home find their lifeblood in this past, where the sea once shaped the landscape.
We work across three main areas, each with unique characteristics that define the identity of our wines:
• Bricco Uccelletta: This is the birthplace of our Grignolino Monferace Vigna Uccelletta. The soil is dominated by the Cadorna Formation (over 27.5 million years old),rich in silt and marl, which lends the wines elegance, complexity, and a rigorous balance.
• Crosia: An area characterized by four different geological formations, from the younger Sant’Agata Marls (5-11 million years old) to the Pietra da Cantoni and the Antognola Formation. This is the origin of Cantico della Crosia, a wine of significant structure, balanced by freshness and a distinct minerality.
• Vadmon: The majority of our vineyards (80%) rest on Pietra da Cantoni and the Antognola Formation (27-15 million years old). These soils, low in sand, give the wines aromas of great intensity and a vibrant, perfectly harmonious minerality.
Climate and Agricultural Approach:
The continental climate of Lower Monferrato ensures strong nocturnal temperature excursions, essential for preserving acidity and aromatic precursors. To respond to modern climate variability, we monitor every vineyard with real-time weather stations, blending technology with tradition.
We embrace organic farming to preserve biodiversity and soil health, fostering a balanced ecosystem. Our care culminates in the harvest, carried out exclusively by hand in small crates to guarantee the qualitative selection of the clusters and the integrity of the fruit until it reaches the cellar.
